Sirince
Sirince is located in the mountside near Selcuk and only a short drive from the famous Ephesus site .When Ephesus was invaded the greeks fled to the mountains and made a small settlement and they called it cirkince which means ulgly in Turkish this kept a lot of the surrounding locals away and as time progressed and relations improved they then called the village Sirince  in 1926 which means cute or pretty
The village is a place of beauty and has wonderful archatecture and a few of the properties have been opened to the public
The area has been put under a presavation order to conserve the historic buildings and St Johns church which is now being slowly being renovated   The land is very fertile  they have olive groves but more importantly the area is very famous for its  wine  going back hunreds of years
The village is now a very popular tourists must go to see the streets are oldy worldy cobbled streets .You have lots of little cafes and resturaunts serving fresh food and drinks and of course the wine shops .You try before you buy what beter way to enjoy a taste of the large selction of wines they produce there İf you start at the top of the street and work your way down it is really a great way to enjoy a wine tasting day .if you dont want to walk up through the cobble streets you can go on  the wine factory tour at the start of the village see how its made and try before you buy again
The locals are very friendly and accommadating and they have a small square in the village where you will find a small market area  selling souviners and local produce fake watches and knitted jumpers i will be going again this year
